My truck insurance covers the trailer. Don't remember if it was a rider or part of the package. Geico is the carrier, and they did beat other rates for main stream companies.
As long as it is securely hitched to the towing vehicle, my trailer is covered by my regular insurance.

I will get with Toby, I think he has some kind of trailer insurance that covers theft and damage, he had his trailer sitting out in front of his house (not hitched to tow rig) when someone ran into it that didn't have insurance. His trailer insurance picked up the damages, if I remember right it was pretty inexpensive also.

I have AAA and for $80 a year I get full coverage on my trailer and whats on it. If they steal my trailer they pay me back what I paid for it. They also pay for any damages that may happen hooked up or just sitting in storage. Example was when all 4 tires/wheels were stolen off of it at the storage place a few months back, $900 worth of stuff and insurance took care of me without problem.

John:eek: We go to get that, with our 4 snowmobiles in the trailer and the trailer itself, theres like $25-30K all together. That would really suck if someone stole the trailer.

What if your trailer is homebuilt? There is no receipt to show the dollar value of the hours spent building it. Plus the cost of steel, axles, the oak decking. But a new one would run$3k-$4k. Wonder how they would pay on that. Probably wouldn't

Just like a homebuilt vehicle. You have all your receipts from when you built it and they review it all and assign a value.

I've got a 29ft Toy Box and it's insured fully including anything in it. Can't remember the price so it can't be much.
