I am thinking I want to make a list of all the years of Cummins powered Dodge rams. Since power change almost ever other year I sometimes get confused what year had what power number, and it's different between autos and manuals...gets me confused sometimes. :confused: I think it would be great to have a sticky thread that lists the power level and drivetrain for each year from 1989 to present. Any changes or that year special, info for every year would be great. Basically a big specs list for every year. Some might be familiar with this over at CK5, just with blazers and Jimmys.

Post up guys if you know everything about (a) certain year(s) and after all the years have an adequet amount of info I will make it into a sticky "years and specs" thread. waytogo

2001

Power output HP/Flbs 235/460 for 47RE 4 speed automatic models. 235/460 for standard 5spd NV4500 models. 245/505 for H.O. 6spd NV5600 models. All 2500 4x4 auto models used a Dana 60 in front and Dana 70 rear. Manual equipped 2500's and all 3500's used a larger Dana 80 rear. 2wd models use the same rear axles as 4x4 models.
2500 models came with an NP241 transfer case as standard but a 241HD was available apon request, regardless of transmission. All 3500 models used the NP241HD.
upgrades/new additions For 2001 a Hi Output model was available, it was only available with the 6spd manual transmission. Late 2001.5 trucks recieved rear disk brakes. A new flip out towing mirror was available for this year. 235/460 models recieved a new turbo housing that is designed for faster spool up, the HY35 model Holset turbo.

Additional info Some refer to the 2001.5 as the most sout after 24v 2nd gen model, rivalled by the H.O. Simply for the rear disk brakes, higher power rating, and full interior features like vanity mirror/lights, passenger handle, and trip computer.

oh by the way...

im not 100% sure but i think that the 6 speed has the same power output as the auto in 2005

Yes, they do.....but both are still torque-limited to 570 ft/lbs as the true "610" does not happen unless all accessories are running
