Just like the title says, Here is what I have so far:

2500

9.5" Semi-floating rear axle
std 3.73 axle ratio 4.10 opt
only 6.0 gas engine
4L80E auto trans
8600lb GVW
2500HD

11.5" Full-floating rear axle
4.10 std axle ratio
6.0, and 8.1 gas, and 6.6 diesel
4l80E and Allison 1000 auto trans
9200lb GVW

Add anything else you can think ofwaytogo

bigger brakes sometimes. and stiffer frame possible. just get the hd and have the full floater axle and be done with it.

The HDs have a stronger, taller frame. That's needed to deal with the Alli and DMax clearance issues.

And of course, there are heavier springs.

IIRC, the 4x4 versions of 2500s use the 1/2 ton front end, while the 2500HDs use the same (larger and stronger) 1 ton front end.

Definitely, the frame is the major difference
