I just traded my 24' flatbed for a 16'. The 16' has ramps but no storage compartment. Anyone here got any good ideas on the ramp storage. Pics would be appreciated. I am going to build something Saturday and need ideas. Thanks. waytogo

Mine are set up in the same place, except there is one on each side and they butt together in the middle, held in by a drop pin on the outside... they just slide through C channel.

Looks great. I like the idea of pins rather than a door like my old trailer had. The hinges were a PIA because of rust.

The pins are quite a bit nicer than the doors over time... the doors look better IMO though... my pins are just roundbar bent at a 90* and then welded with what looks like swingset chain onto the frame. that cheap little chain has saved my pins a couple times. The kids like to pull 'em out when I'm not watching.

Last weekend I finally got around to building a storage rack. Mine is identical to yours. I need to get some chain though.

I like when they slide in the end of the trailer. That way you don't have to carry them as far and you don't have to remimber to pull the ramps before you back up next to the fence or whatever else :doah:. But I guess that wouldn't work so well with the dovetail. Also the ones I've used that slid in the end were on taller trailers and longer ramps and they are HEAVY.

My dove has them in the back. real easy to use. Don't have to carry them far at all.

My ramps store in the rear of the dovetail. It is a Kaufman and they actualy go into the back plate between the lights. I will try and post a pic or two this week. they are also held in place by pins from Tractor supply for like 4-5 bucks each. I just need to drill them out a little to allow a padlock instead of the cotter pins.
