OK so I am getting bigger tires very soon.
I don't know what brand or size I am going to buy...yet.
SO I have a 2005 Silverado. Did the wheel wells change over the past few years...like 2003 to 2005..As far as I can tell they look the same.

I guess my real question is do you think I should go big and get 285s or stick with one step bigger at 265 (stock is 245). I think some one here told me 285s will hit the front lower skirt or whatever it is called?

I belive I want a AT tire with a load E rating...

What do you Silverado owners run on a factory lift?
Suggestions?
This is my towrig not my offroader but I will need At for getting to the trail head and camping type roads...
any .02c would be GREAT

They changed in 2003 by making the front a bit smaller. '01 and '02 fit 285-75/16s without cranking or cutting. Only minor inner fender "shaping" is required on the driver's side to clear with no rubbing. That's what I run on my truck. To do the same on an '03 typically requires a couple of cranks (which I *refuse* to do), trimming bumper valance or spacing the bumper, AND reshaping both inner fenders. But 265-75/16s fit with no mods on the '03+ from what I recall reading.

Do the 285s. a couple of cranks on the T-Bars wont change your ride at all. I have like 10 cranks on mine (truck sat Really low when I bought it)
and it rides the same as before. I think you might need to trim the bottom front corner on the bumper valance but that takes like 5min tops.

Again do the 285s they will look SOOOO much better than the 265s. I am running the BFG ATs in 285s and they are great. They are a load range D but have a higher load rating than the stock Es. They have great offroad traction, snow traction, and are silent on the highway. they also look Great!!!

I've got 5 cranks on my t bars, and use in snips to trim about an inch triangle of the corner of the front valence and run 285 BFG muds. The only time the rub is with the plow up at full lock and stuff, and then its just barely.
