I was just talking to my brother-in-law about this same question this weekend. If GM put a diesel in the new Suburban I'd seriously consider dumping my F350 and my wife's Chevy Trailblazer EXT and get a diesel Suburban to do double duty... which would allow me to get a new daily driver. :D

I'm waiting for that one too....problem is they couldn't make it cheap enough...a fully loaded Suburban already costs close to 60k...add 7-8k for the Diesel package and you're close to 70k.

I work for Allison Trans. they have tested the Allison trans in subs with both gas and Duramax power the R&D people I have talked to will not say if this will happen very soon. They did say that it works well.
