TowRig.com - Diesel Discussion and Tow Tech

Does anyone tow their Jeep w/ an Excursion or equivalent with a Weight Distribution Hitch(WDH)? I am looking to get a 18' Carhualer and my Excursion Hitch says 5000 lbs w/out a WDH and 12,500 lbs w/ a WDH. My tow capacity on my truck is 9500 lb trailer. I am looking at the Equlaizer WDH.

i see excursions and burbans with much more than that. more so on the excursion side. if you are towing with an excursion get a trans cooler yesterday style. they like to heat up BAD.

You should have no problem. My father in law tows a 7k lb 30' camper with an '04 expedition factory hitch and I think it's lighter duty than the excursion.
