The wife wasn't feeling well this morning so she stayed home from work, I stayed too to help with the kid. By early afternoon she was feeling better so we decided to go pick the truck up instead of waiting until the weekend. I forgot my camera but took a lousy picture with my cell phone... :doah:

Looks good, Evan! One of my good friends in MD just picked up a new Ford 250 PS truck last week. He now has an '03 GMC Dmax for sale with 2 brand new injectors (for the 3rd time).

The other day on my commute home me and a new 250PS4x4 same color as yours but SRW were 'racing' each other. It was fun, both rigs kept up with eachother so no one really beat the other. The Ford guy was having fun too.
New towrigs are cool I don't care what flavor they arewaytogo
Oh and that color doesn't stay one color, well what I mean it almost looked olive in the sunlight then burnt smoke rust...hell I don't know how to describe it but it is a cool color.
Anyway Congrats manwaytogo

I haven't heard a THING about mine. Starting to piss me off.

I heard that Dodge was having big problems with the new manuals and they were having to get fly wheels from GM to put in their trucks. If you don't wnat the GM fly wheel they will put the Dodge Auto in at no charge. Thats probably why they haven't called Tim.
Don't call them they will call you.rotfl JK

Sorry to here that you haven't gotten your truck yet. I know that it is hard to wait.

So, you bought a UPS truck? ;)

Man, looks nice. I don't normally like brown, but that looks pretty cool with the pearl clear. Sure is gonna be a mutha to touch up though if it ever gets in a bender...

Heh, I moved it there specificlaly to take a pic, the parking lot at work is huge and half of it is always empty.

It's funny how it looks so brown in some light, pretty much in direct strong sunlight it looks brown, although when I went to lunch it looked green. In overcast it's dark grey.

Check this one out, it looks super brown in this light -

Side Bar:
It's what they used to call "flip-flop" in custom paints. Originally I seem to recall it was made using crushed mica, but now they use a synthetic stuff that is not so hard to keep in even suspension while spraying. With the older flip-flops, you had to constantly swirl the cup (at the end of each pass) or it would start to separate out before you could get very far.

So, you sitting out there in it having a beer tonight? I envy you the feeling. It was absolutely great when I got my new HD, looking for any excuse to drive it, or even look at it. :D

Yep, I once painted an Impala with flip-flop paint, about 13 years ago in high school body shop class. This is much more subtle than that, but still cool. Just gotta make sure to keep it shiny, if it dulls out I'm pretty sure it will just be plain old brown.:o

Are you going to tint those front windows to match the back?

Shaggy
03-16-2005, 03:22 PM
I'll probably tint the back ones a bit darker and make the fronts about how the backs are now.waytogo

BadDog

Give it a little while. I had tint on my mind when I got mine, but after driving it, no need to pay money and risk the bubbles, fading and such over time. The factory tint now is VERY good, and I can still see out at night. Now, if your talking about looks, that's a different matter, but I don't think you'll find the *need*. I did feel the *need* in my old 98 Dodge, but not the HD, and I live in the "valley of the sun". ;)

Shaggy

I tint the windows in all my cars, I like it for the security aspect of not being able to see into the back, and now that I tote the munchkin around I like it to help keep the sun out of his eyes. I've never had bubbles form in professionally done tint and the $200 to have it done is well worth it to me.:D Where I live it might as well be desert, it rarely drops below 95 during the summer days and is over 100 on most days.:o The truck is going to be parked outside too, so all the help I can get to protect the interior from fading is worth it.waytogo

I'd say tint the front windows, I'm going to do my Dodge with 35% sometime this spring because I did it to my K5 and it was one of the best investments I made with that thing. It really helped keep the sun off my shoulder and face on those hot afternoons sitting at a stop light.

Just remember in Cali it is illeagle to tint any windows up front, only behind the driver is leagle. I belive they are more leanent on the lighter tints up front but if you black them out they can pull you over for it:rolleyes:

I've been told that if the cop can see if you have your seatbelt on then you'll be OK. All of my cars/trucks have had tint on the front windows and I've never had a problem, so I don't worry about it too much.:D

Hey SHagg, do you have a pic of your hitch? Just curous which one you have?

Shaggy
03-17-2005, 10:59 AM
It's the factory 2.5" one rated at 15,000 lbs. I've heard that it's just a branded Titan but have no idea what a Titan looks like, so I can't tell you for sure...

Can you tell?

Burt4x4
03-17-2005, 11:24 AM
Can't realy tell in that pic, I have a Titian 2.5" laying on my garage floor. It DWARFS my GM factory P.O.S.

If I ever have time I will take a pic of it.

Yours does look like the receiver goes THRU the cross bar not under it, just like my Titian doeswaytogo
