Which do you prefer? A 5th wheel setup or a gooseneck? I have a gooseneck trailer but have a 5th wheel adapter for it and can pull it either way... Why is one better than the other?

Hmmm I thought they are the same? Just different terms? Is it the way they connect to the bed that makes them different?

It's 2 completely different styles of hitches. One uses a king pin setup like big rigs but smaller (5th wheel), the other uses a 2-5/6" ball in the bed and a coupler that attaches to it (gooseneck).

Well, I went the other way. I have a 30k set of Reese 5er rails with full frame plates, and a goose neck adapter for it.
Goose. Stronger, and can take a larger range of motion.
