I have a laptop or two so for troubleshooting my 05 Silvarado I would like to use a laptop instead of a scanner.
Can anyone recomend a software company for doing this?
By the time I piece togeather a Snap-On scanner I'm pushing closer and closer to 1000bucks to have all the bells and wistles in a scanner...so laptop w/OBII connector is the direction I am researching now...

Comments?
Opinions?

Thanks for your time
Burt

As I said on nor cal:

The software is "Digimoto" and the box is "Elmscan"
Their latest software is prety cool, it has a dyno simulator built in and will give you your estimated hp and your zero to 60 times if you run it while your driving. It has a full set of gauges that can read any sensor in the truck. It's helped a ton with my chevy when I get check engine lights. Does everything but turn the wrench for me waytogo

Elmscan:

Software:

http://www.digimoto.com

I'm not a fan of the software that comes with elmscan but the digimoto stuff is cool waytogo
