I just added the edge with attitude to my 03 duramax dually and have noticed awsome power advantages but, I have also noticed that the temp goes up when I sustain freeway speeds. What makes this strange is that if I pick up speed the temp goes down. Any clues as to why? I thought maybe the thermostat might be bad but, then I read that there are two thermostats. Where are they located? There are no aftermarket books (that I know of) available to help.
Thanks for any input

Hmm to me it sounds like a air flow problem but could be a thermostat issue I dont kow where they are located but I would suggest cleaning you radiator and intercooler or oil cooler if so equiped.

Thanks for the suggestion, I was thinking about draining the radiator but, I bought the truck 6 months ago from a dealer. I figure they did a flush but, who knows. You mentioned air flow problem, I had the after market air filter fall off after a desert trip, about 15 miles or so without it. Any suggestions for cleaning the inter-cooler?

Do not assume the dealer to do anything that is not absolutely nescessary. Check for airflow problems and condition of coolant.
And when you say "up" how hot is that? 190-200 is normal oper temp.

Jimmy, I know. It's a bad idea to even think that a dealer would do anything to benefit the concumer. When I first got the truck I ran around 180, then I noticed it getting a little warmer 190 or so. I checked the coolant levels and noticed that I needed about half a gallon. I am going to store to get some of the GM coolant and flush this thing just because. I think this truck was in an accident and the coolant that they used was just regular off the shelf stuff and water. I noticed that I have a small hydraulic leak that is leaking onto one of the intercooler hoses. I don't think that would make things hotter. I checked the clamps and cleaned the air filter, now I need to get on the freeway and make some test runs.
Thanks for the advice

you can spray it out at the car wash or at home with a water hose just becareful with the cooling fins.

When I had my Edge, it would run anywhere from 183 to 202 depending on weather, how hard I was pushing it, etc. It never has bothered me..
