Anyone ever heard of these? We had one on our old motorhome and it would stop the thing way fast. It's basically a ring that goes over the driveshaft. The driveshaft has a disc on it and the ring is a big elecromagnet. When you engage it, it creates a magnetic field that slows the driveshaft down thus slowing the vehicle down. It slowed our 36 foot motorhome from 55 to 15 in 30 seconds on off ramps and such.

I think it would be a bitchin setup on gas tow rigs that can't run an exhaust brake! Not sure how much they cost for pickup versions though... Alot of semi's and stuff use them, mostly in outher countries though.

I think I need to add that to my signature. Never heard of them, but if that's not the funniest name for an aftermarket vehicle part, I don't know what is! waytogo

I've seen some of those on the U.S. Forest fire trucks here at the shop. I got to test drive one and you better be hangin on to the steering wheel when that thing comes on or you'll be eatin windshield rotfl

Ours had 1-4 settings. It was nice and smooth but on 4 it was like slamming on the brakes. I want one on my dodge... Too bad they are like 2 feet in diameter :doah:

Your right. They are HUGE! I'm suprised they dont twist the drive lines in half.
