I know in the late model GM rigs there is an anti-lock wheel sensor located in the hub, do the Ford and Dodge solid axle rigs have something like that also or is it located elsewhere?

In the Ford it's in the diff housing in the rear, since it's a 3 channel system. The fronts on either truck should have sensors in the hub/rotor area. The Chevy uses a 4 channel system so that's why it needs sensors in each hub. No idea what the Dodge is using since I never really researched those trucks...

Welp, they are about a 100.00 bucks for the Chevy. :eek: I need to call the Stealership and get the part number so I can see what gmpartsdirect's price is.

Ah reason 37 why I removed all the ABS stuff from my chevy... I have to say it was the worst ABS system I have ever have. Took me close to death on a few occasions when the truck was bone stock.

Steve, they usually just need to be cleaned. Dirt and crud get in there and can fool with the signal back to the ABS unit. Also, I have a couple here if you want to just throw a good used one in there. FYI, I have heard of GM VSS's (in the transfer case and/or transmission) getting dirty to the point of needing cleaned due to a bad signal generated, which will cause the transmission to not shift properly, and throw a code.

Oh, and they can easily be tested with a multimeter.
