i believe a dana 70 is a dana 70 only difference is ford parts on the end like brakes n such is the one you have complete or just the housing, let me know then we can compare measurments. i know for sure it has to have a 4" wide axle tube the spring and shock perch can be cut and re-welded

ok the measurment from outer part of the hub( actually axle shaft end) to hub is 83 1/2
if the housing is out of something other than '79 to '84 1-ton chevy let me know we may have take off the drums and hubs to get the actual measurment of just the axle just to make sure
axle tube width which is most important is 4"
10 bolt cover
and if you would check on the front of the pumpkin i think on the pass. side just up and to the left of the pinion check and see if it says DANA 70HD
apreciate all your help

Try over at CK5.com . There are a few guys who have them, and might be closer to you. I have a complete one, but I'm 1500 miles away.

you want to measure WMS to WMS (wheel mounting surface) thats what will matter in overall width. and perch width. you want a disk braked D80 dually. out of an '02 3500 Dodge.

i measured mine and it is ten bolt, but the tubes are 3.5. also no numbers on mine, i may be able to find the axle tag if you need to know more.

i have a drum axle i bought new drums and hubs races and bearings already installed i dont care about perches cause if there different i have someone who can cut and reweld them i will measure wms tomorrow if i get time from work and let you know all i do need is a housing i have everything else. i have it all together right now but i still have the old hubs so i'll measure the difference from the outer of the hub and subtract it.

what the heck are you guys talking about "10 bolt"
if its the number of bolts holding the cover its pretty irrelevant when talking about Dana's. People used that system to label Gm corporate diffs rather than ring gear size, thats it.

Just a heads up, the ford version has a different Bolt pattern than the Dodge and Chevy ones. I will have a Dodge Dana 70 from a dually available for sale in about 2 months, if you are still looking then.
