Just like the title says. I had a lifted Ford SD before I bought my MC and just wondered how big I can go on tires without lifting. If I dont' lift it I will put at least a leveling kit on but I want to know what the biggest tire I can fit on will be. I'm hoping to fit 35's and a think a few other CTD guys have done that.

I think you'll need leveling kit to clear 35's on STOCK rims. With wider aftermarket rims you'll be lucky to clear 33's.

What about H2 rims? I kinda like the look of those and I've seen them on a nearly stock rig with 35's. Doesn't coloradok5 have those on his rig?

lots of people are running H2 rims on dodges with little to no rub issues. i am assuming its a 4x4, and i used to run 315-70-17's on my 04.5 SRW short box 2wd. it only rubbed at full lock or partial lock with a bump and only on the sway bar.
i run 265-70-19.5's now on the same truck, a 34.5 inch tire, and it rubs at partial lock and on bumps. if i had a 4x4, i dont htink it would rub at all with eiher tire setup.

You can run 315's on the stock rins with no lift, they might rub a little under full lock but nothing major.

315/70/17 (the H2 tire) WILL RUB with no lift. In fact, they even rubbed slightly with a 2'' Revtek leveling kit at full turn.
To be honest i would stick to the 285/70/17 (like Dodge puts on the Powerwagon). You won't notice such a drop in fuel mileage and they still look pretty sweet.

wierd... is there different backspacing with the H2 rims compared to the stock dodge alloys? because mine definitley rubbed with no leveling kit.

yes H2 has 1" more backspacing other than the center hole and having to trim the center caps it's like they were made for these truck Instead of those stupid looking H2's

well there ya go... so if you wanna keep the stock wheels and run just the H2 tires you need spacers:rolleyes:
