Okay, I own a four wheel drive dually and I do occasionally have to use four wheel drive. I'm looking to upgrade to 19.5" wheels, but I haven't been able to find any tires that would have any decent off road traction. I'm not looking for a super swamper type tread, just something better than the over the road grooved tires. Any suggestions?

I might just bite the bullet and have some 20" rims made. Seems like there are several options when it comes to off road tires. The only down side with this is that they won't be load range F, G, or H.

that should get ya started... those are all 245-70-19.5 about the same height as your stock tires. little wider. you can go to a 255 with no rub issues, or with a 4x4 have little to no rub issues with a 34.5 inch tall 265/70/19.5 like i run on my 2wd.

I had 265 70R19.5 Yokahoma tires on my 03. Great tires. Toyo has some great ones too. Goodyear, ect are decent too.

None of these are 19.5" tires on the pages you've linked to. Are you telling me that they make them in a 19.5" and just didn't list them? Right now, I have 285/75-16 BFG M/Ts on the rear with no issues. I'd like to go a little taller.

best thing to to is find a local dealer that services medium duty, or ask a tow truck driver where they buy thier tires...

you can definatly find mud orriented tires no problem, but the thing is most will be destinated with a D position rating meaning drive, not steer axle......we have several MT style tires on our tow trucks and what we have in stock. recently got in a birdgestone that looks lik eit will rumble like a swamper going down the road it is so aggressive....

if it was mine i would put 4 MT tires in the back, and two steers in the front and dont worry about it. just the tires up fornt turning will make a difference if you have decent tires pushing out back and it will still go down the road nice

BFG has some off road commercial tires that might work for you.
