One of the tires on my trailer is flat, and looking closer at them I see that they're 205/75-15's rated at 1820lbs for a total of 7200lbs capacity. the other tires aren't in the best shape either, but they're adequate.

I'm considering replacing all 4, because running at 100% of load capacity scares me.. My 5200lb K10 on the trailer is over the load rating, not including spares, tools & parts. My only saving grace is 10%-15% of that weight riding on the tow rig. I'm thinking of going to a ~2500lb rated 225/75-15 just for the extra secuirty of only running at 75% of the load capacity.

I'm looking around and the only one I can find is the Goodyear Marathon, and it's a little pricer than I want.

Are there any other good trailer tire makers that don't have such a big advertising overhead to cover and can sell a tire for cheaper?

THe Marathon is a decent tire, we have them on our snowmobile trailer. Big O tires sells a tire almost identical to the Marathon, and it's much cheaper. We have one as a spare and I will check what it's name is tommorrow in the day light.

I'm also putting tires on my tripple axle gooseneck. I'm going to reuse my old tires that came off my Dodge. 265/75/16 Michelins LTX A/S E rated tires. I just need to find two more. :doah:

Well on my new trailer I just picked up I have some BIG tires, They mesure 32" tall and 7.5" wide on 16" wheels. I don't remember the brand but they are 10ply E rated at 2480 per tire. You probly know but make sure you by trailer tires not car tires waytogo.

Well I called around locally and found some reasonably priced "no-name" tires in 225/75/15 size rated at 2540lbs each. They were $79/ea mounted & balanced. The guy at the tire shop said his customers had much better luck with those than with even the Goodyears.

Even though my axles arent rated at 5k/each, I feel MUCH more comfortable knowing my tires aren't running at 110% of their load capacity.
