Right now it has 37" SSRs on 16s. Mileage ain't so great, and seem to wear pretty quick.

37-38" tall. I'm thinking 40" MTR, but don't wanna buy 17" Wheels. Trxus? Any others? Gotta be tuff since I wheel this thing.

Get ya a set of 17 steelies and then you can weld on a set of bead locks so you can really wheelrotfl.

Seriously though to be clear you are looking for something in a 40" range for a 16" rim that has a tough sidewall and good tread.

Right now price and tread wear are what I'm looking for. Looking at getting some of the old Wrangler M/T H1 tires on Ebay. Any idea what the treadwear/durometer on them is? The SSRs are gone after putting several hundred miles on it this weekend. LA, Bako, Sacto, Bako, home. Lots of miles.

Not sure about treadwear and Durometer. I am on the prowl for some big meets in 16.5 flavor myself. I am pickin up my H1s on Sunday:D . You are talking about the MT that were replaced by the MTR right? Or do you mean the really old ones like Readymix used to run, the Biased style.

All chunked up from being on the blazer, so they shake, and the wide ones are pretty heavy, the skinny ones are wobbly on the freeway.

I ordered some last night. Yeah, they're the old M/T that got replaced by the MT/R, not the old 36" biased. I talked to redbulljeep on pirate about them. he's some kind of tire guru. Should have them in a couple days. now I need some 16.5 wheels. They're supposed to be good on the street, not so good offroad, which is good for the Dodge. There are two versions. mil spez OZ and an aftermarket version. The OZs are better.

If you want durability and high mileage, get a set of 19.5s and Hankook or Michelin tires.

Nice shots the MTR's do better on the rocks than in the mud take it from me.....:popcorn:
If your doing alot of muddy wheelin get something aimed at that also check out www.pirate4x4.com (http://www.pirate4x4.com) lots of info on tires and quite a few guru's as stated earlier.
