How long are your ramps for your trailer? I built my trailer and figured 4' ramps would be plenty with the 2' long drop in the back. If I were just loading a trail rig I wouldn't even need ramps waytogo . But for my backhoe it seems 4' is way too short. My backhoe hangs so far behind the back tire of the tractor that if the incline it too steep the frame digs in the ground? I'm thinking of making a folding type ramp design. Take my 4' ramps and add another 4' and have it hinge in the middle so the ramps fold onto each other and onto the deck for travel. Anyone ever heard or seen anything like that?

i like my fold flat 6 foot ramps. that gives me 12 feet of ramp for a nice gradual slope and the ability to move lower rides on and off the trailer without dragging. it also means i have to have enough space to pull foreward to put the ramps up and then back up onto them. thats the main drawback. i do have more useable space this way for flat load only items and the ability for better weight distribution on the trailer.
