I was wondering what kind of MPG people were getting with the 5.4 engine under various conditions. My towing will be lightwieght (2500lbs) in the eastern US, KY TN NC GA.

I have a E250 Van with the 5.4 and it averages around 12 with my ladders on the roof and loaded up heavy.

I finally got a chance to check mine and it came out to 12.8 local driving. It's going to be a couple months before I get it on the road with a trailer.
thanks

Wow! That sucks! I consistently get 16mpg in town with my diesel. Even on the hi way towing a small car I still get 16.

My Supercrew with 5.4 auto and 379 gears gets 21mpg on highway and 16 around town I added an Edge attitude programmer the milage stayed about the same except in high performance in dropped about 2mpg both in city and highway. I got 13mpg pulling a 9200 lb fifth wheel from Tn to N.C on I 40 thru the mountains. While pulling my 6400 lb hybrid camper I get 13 to 15 mpg depending on speed.
