is this the right forum? i dunno... maybe....

what brand of binders are you using?
how much did you pay for them?
what style are they?
and would you buy them again or another style/brand?

im looking for 8 10k binders for my blazer. i can get some airforce style binders with the threaded tension adjusters for... a good price lets say. wre they worth it? i will also be using ratched straps, but i HAVE to use chains due to Cal regs.

chains
what grade, and size are you using?
thanks

I use chains and the ratcheting load binders. Basically just picked it all up Harbor Freight and it's all rated at 10k pounds. Can't remember the grade # on the chain off hand but it's working load was around 9500 pounds if I remember right.

I use 4, 2 on each axle. I criss cross them from the axles to the center of the trailer and have never had a problem. Also run a single ratchet strap on each side of the front to the front bumper to compress the front suspension and keep the body from rolling around corners.

I use 3/8" Grade 70 transport chain. My binders are rated for 5,600 lbs each (working load limit). 3/8" grade 70 has I believe in the neighborhood of a 5,500 lb working load limit and a near-20,000 lb ultimate breaking strength.

I use chains front and rear, and two front ratchet straps to assure the truck is going nowhere, I take no chances with my junk.

I'd say I paid $30 per 20' length of chain and $20 per binder but I may be wrong.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd order American chain/binders from AW Direct, and use ratcheting style binders instead.

I use some HUGE zip ties to keep my binders from coming undone as well.
