How strong are the stock clutches in H.O. 6 spd trucks? What average mileage would you say they last?

My dad just bought an '02 HO dually with 99K and am curious how soon a new clutch could be needed.

I've had my truck since March and it has just over 140,000 and I assume it is still the stock clutch. I don't turn the comp box up to much. I haven't noticed any problems or slipping knock, on wood. I've heard if you turn the box up too much with a trailer you could roast a clutch pretty easy. Since his is stock I would think it would last a good while longer as long as he and the previous owner know how to drive it. I hope to get another year or so out of it and then I'll put in a stronger one when this one goes. But then this one might not be the original, would like to know. An easy way to find out doesn't come to mind.

Someone I know that has an '02 3/4T HO says he can slip the clutch unloaded with his Comp on 4 or 5, at 1800 RPM's only.

So can the clutch stand up to an Edge EZ?

I've slipped it once the first day I got it then realized this was my daily driver and I didn't want to put a clutch in it. But I will upgrade later and then I won't have to worry about it. I keep it turned down low for now. I'm pretty sure a stock clutch would hold up to an ez since it will hold up to the lower settings on the comp and the ez doesn't tap the pump wire.
