My dad just bought an '02 H) 6spd dually and is curious what similar trucks are getting for mileage. What are you getting with your 6 spd? His is a dually and does that make much of a difference?

How about the Cad system...his '02 has CAD so no front shaft is spinning. Does that help produce slightly better mileage over the later 4wd setup? I know on the GM 70's all wheel drive pickups, going to lock out hubs and eliminating the full time 4wd improved mileage but I don't know if it's the same on these trucks.

I just got an 05 dual wheel with six speed and four wheel drive. The first tank from the dealer got me about 17.5 mpg. Havn't towed anything yet. I am curious what others are getting with this setup as well. Later.

I get 21 MPG if I drive like my father but most of the time I get 19 MPG from just about every tank.
My truck was one of the last few that came with the C.A.D. system but I do not know if it would get worse milage if it was C.A.D. delete - the axles still turn with my system and I don't think the shaft spinning would make that much difference considering the rest of the truck

Is 19 and 21 average or highway?

It's a combo of both highway/in-town driving but I should point out that those figures are since I put a set of 315/70R16's on the truck - before this I ran the 265/75R16's that was O.E.M. and I consistantly got 16/17 MPG with in town driving combined with some highway time in every tank.

I'm getting 19 mixed about 17 if short stop and go trips like when I was still in college. (My friend was getting about 13-14 in his powerchoke :D ). I haven't had a pure highway tank yet so I'm a little curious. I don't think the dually would hurt much exept for the added weight, but whats a couple hundred on a few thousand.

Hmm, my dad's hoping for 21-22 on the highway and 16-17 in town.

The guy I bought my truck from said I would get 21-22 highway, but i took that as a grain of salt. I've come to find the other stuff he told me to be true so that is what I expect. I don't see any reason why your dad won't get what he's lookin for waytogo
