I've got a 96 F350 4x4 that I want to go bigger on tires to keep RPMs down. It has 265/75/16s on stock aluminum wheels. What is the largest size anyone has successfully run without hitting?

I was thinking 285/75/16s should be fine, but would like to go bigger if I can.

on '06 F350s you can get 275/65R20's which are 34.1"s dia.

Looks like I'm gonna go with either 295 or 305/75/16s.

Hey a buddy of mine is running 305/75/16 on his 93 F350 and it hasn't hit yet.
The only time the truck is offroad is at the beach but it has been bound up a couple times with no problems.

93 is a much different style than the 96.

Looks like I'm just gonna stay with the 265's for now. Can't justify the expense to go slightly bigger vs the speed/gas difference.
