I was just looking at the difference between the 2500 and the 3500. The spring packs are the same just they adding the overload spring. So I called the gm parts dept. They actuall want $450 for a new spring per side. that actually comes out to $900. They say that they are sold in set and can't sell just they overloads. This doesn't even include the brackets, the u-bolts, or the standoff/block between the springs. Has anyone priced these and came up with anything different? What about aftermarket? That will be my next thought of looking into. Any help would be great thanks

Just hit the junk yard and find a lightly used dually. No way I would buy new on those. You also need the slapper brackets on the frame...

But honestly, do you think you will need that? I've hauled pretty heavy and my truck handles it fine.

Another thing I've thought about is removing a leaf and adding airbags. Better ride unloaded (yes, I care) AND keeps the towing capacity at or above a stock 2500HD. Probably as much or more than a 3500HD. Plus adjustable ride height in the back so that "leveling" does not hurt (if you're into that).

Please do me a favor and measure the springs from eye to eye on both sets of the LATE models(FMI) thanks!

you want them measured on the 2500hd springs? From eye to eye, Yopu want that measurement from eye to eye with the tape laying against the spring or straight across? I will try to get both measurements.

I'm with BadDog and have personally gone the Airbag route.
