I have a 2007 dodge heavy duty 1 ton dually, what are the best replacement tire for highway towing? I pull a 40 ft goosrneck flatbed and soon a 50 ft 3 car wedge, and will be needing tires in the near future and wondering which ones to use. So far I'm getting good wear out of the Generals that came on the truck as long as I keep rotating regular and tire pressure checked but that is true with any tires for good life, but is there any better for the money? Michelin LTX M/S tires are probably the best in the business as far as wear, weight capacity, and handling. The only problem is what they cost....around $200 per tire for stock sizes.
This is a loaded question I like the BGF Rugged Trails but I'm also having luck with the Firestone Transforce, of course I dont tow as much as others and I think my next set will be more for off highway travel but neither tire ever left me stuck in here on the farm or down logging roads.
I bought my truck with 22,000 miles on it and the Generals. I bought the Michelins at 45,000 miles when the Generals were down to the wear bars. Discount Tire says with regular rotations the Michelins should be good for 70,000-75,000 miles.

If you want the highest mileage tire you'll have to go to 19.5 wheels. I understand the Hankook tires are 150,000 mile tires. You might want to give them a call. www.americanforcewheels.com
Good Year makes a G rated trailer tire that runs around 375 that will out perform anything you have probably been using, when I used them on my 53' enclosed, I usually got around 150,000 with no rotations, was very happy with that.
michelin ms....i got 75000 miles out of them with my 40 ft gn hooked up all the time......great tires....
I got real close to 80,000 mi on the Michelin M/S tires I had on mine. I've got the Revo's on it now for two reason's: 1) I've heard & read a lot of good stuff about them, so I wanted to see for myself 2) I got 'em from the Air National Guard Base BX which saves me a little by not paying tax
Have 90k on my Michelin LTX M/S's, looks like I should be able to get another 20 or so out of them. Thats with hauling heavy probably 80-90% of the time. waytogo Do have a brand new set of Generals on new wheels all set to go if anyones interested!
Every 12-15k, plus I also have Centramatics on the truck, put on when I put the Mich's on.... so if they are actually helping or not is anybodys guess.
I live about 15 miles from Centramatic. They're in south Ft. Worth, probly Alvarado. I called and talked to them but the price seemed a bit much at the time. I don't think they advertise too much because I've never seen them in the magazines. Actually you're the only person I've ever known that had them on their truck.
I just changed my tire yesterdy, I was running Mich mS and I ran 122,000 miles, no rotations, I keep them at 75psi, tow daily and I have to admit I should have changed them at about 110K, but no doubt the best stock sized tire and worth the extra 50 bucks over the competition.
