Hello?

Somebody please....Although I consider myself quite knoledgable in the 6.2 and 6.5 field, this is always a question I have wondered and would love some insight. I mean obviously there from different applications, but whats the real differences? Turbine wheel size? input output size? Input output location? Etc Etc

Basically, the numbers reflect the various models through the years, and got better later in the production of the 6.5.

From a reputable source at another 'Place:

Quote:
GM-4 used '94-'95

GM-5 used '96-'97

GM-8 used '98 to present is the best and most efficient of all the GM-series turbos

GM-5 is -8 equiv, but with shorter wastegate bushing, which wore out quickly.

Use the -8 exhaust elbow on a -5, and you have a GM-8
