Killer Dowel Pin?

I Remember reading about the killer dowel pin in Diesel Power magazine awhile back(before I purchased my truck) but didn't pay much attention. Now I cant find the article and think I should probably get this taken care of asap. was wondering what needs to be done to solve this potential problem. why has there not been a recall?

Thanks

Thanks for the info. That link seemed to be more straight forward than the DP article. Doesn't seem like too tough of a project.

I'm betting that you've fixed this already. But here's another idea for those who search this out in the future....

EDIT: After more research, I've found that it's getting harder and harder to find the jig needed to use this fix.....

Tab it!!

$1 tab from Cummins NW, small tube of lock-tite, front seal and a little Ultra Black RTV. Piece of cake and it works every time.

any problems with the kdp were taken care of under warranty by Cummins , that is except Dodge , Dodge buys all their engines without warranty by Cummins and Dodge supplies the warranty.
