Diesel Drags

Woodburn Drag strip, division 6 truck drags last weekend.

What a blast, had about 50-60 rigs in the 4x4 class. I hate to admit it but it was my first time as a driver. Running a customers 2005 Duramax. We had exhaust, intake, crazy lary downloader, as well as some other goodies that I didn't tell him about on order. UPS screwed up and left them in Salt lake city, so I was left to run on just a superchip I had laying on the shelf. Best ET was a 15.52 @88.8mph. I really feel the truck had a 15.3 - 15.4 in her but I was dragging the brake scared of breaking out. Bracket racing has to be the most boring form of racing in the world to watch but it sure is challenging to race. I over thought and was eliminated in the second round after spinning the tires. I kept lifting but the track was really hot and the tires we were running were crap. My best reaction time was a .013 with a little tuning we should be deep into the 14's for seattle Sept 9. Who else on this board is racing?????

Pics, where's the pics? I have a drag strip about 10 miles from me that I might have to visit... after a few mods of course.

How are the classes set up? Is it as simple as stock and modified?

At woodburn (smaller track) the classes were 4x4 and hot truck. Hot truck was all 2x's and most Ford lightnings with a few 2x diesels and one really bad ass cummins that was running in the 11's and killing everybody. Eliminations are simple bracket racing. We had 4 time trials in the morning to figure our dial in times. That is how they make the field competitive. Time trials were fun because they are heads up but unoficial. Now when we go to seattle I think since that is a national event it might be a little more defined.
