Dodge has a press release that indicates the 6.7 will have 350hp and 650 ft/lbs of torque available 1 Jan 07 in the 2500 and 3500 trucks. 750 ft/lbs in the not yet released medium duty trucks.

For more info and links to other threads that have the new transmissions and other goodies (six speed autos) see my post in the Rumors section of this form titled 6.7 Cummins, Its a reality. https://towrig.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1668&page=3

Still, the 6.7 makes me sick to my stomach thinking of all the smog stuff on the thing. I buy used truck, maybe 2-4 years old with roughly 100K of freeway miles. Does this mean I get to replace the stupid particulate filter that costs thousands? The 6.7 has a water cooled turbo, no thanks.

I think my next truck is going to be a 2006-2007.0 Mega Cab 610 5.9... and I bet the demand and price will be high for them too...

I agree, I think a better choice will be a late model 5.9 in the shape of your choice. If only a crew cab long box would show up. I could change my mind. I'm about 2 years away from either a new truck or a used truck and I'll need a crew cab dually to haul my fiver. I have trips planned and will need the extra room for adult family members.

Ive read that the 350/650 will only be offered behind the 6 speed auto transmission, and that it will be 305/610 behind the 6 speed manual.:doah:Agree with ya on the Smog crap RJF, the last truck I'll probably ever buy will be an 06 or early 07 Diesel pickup, hate this emmissions crap!!!!

This scares me, look at all that crap on there. The Cummins use to be the one with all the room under the hood. Now, they're all stuffed under the hood.

wow i didnt know there was so much crap on those motors! on that emision stuff its probally illegal to cut that partical collector out? or is it like the oxygen sencer like on the gas motors on gmc's. i wish that the companies would leave the motors alone and just turn them up and not put all curciut board stuff on there. just wanted to rant.

They had better be stronger now because if not (with the extra power from factory) they will loose a lot of money on warrenty replacements.

Wow,,Makes me glad I got the "early" 2007 with the 5.9 and 6 speed ....

    5.9 + 6 speed manual = tried and true....
    6.7 + 6 speed auto = too many unknowns...

    Higher HP

My guess is that the 350 HP being introduced this month will be tuned higher and closer to 375-390HP by 2008 models. The 350 is even now lower than the Durapuke at 365 and the new 6.4L Ferd will push that. DC I don't think will lag behind very long. 2008 model is the time to buy.:stir:

A friend of mine just got laid off notice from the Freightliner big truck plant in Cleveland, NC. 1200-1500 laid off due to poor sales. They are introducing a new P3 model that is cheaper truck to offset the higher cost of engine. Go figure. They have acres of trucks just sitting around in neighborhood lots.
