I just read in RV Life magazine(www.rvlife.com) that Fleetwood Enterprises has announced plans to build low cost travel trailers in a plant in Mexicali,Mexico. The company is also closing plants in Maryland,Texas and Califorinia. As someone that lives in a small town in East Tennessee that lost many low wage sewing mill jobs to even lower standards in Mexico EVERYONE MUST STAND UP AND LET THESE COMPANIES KNOW THAT WE WILL BOYCOT THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!Rember that tha next job moving to Mexico could be yours.
If everyone takes that same attitude all of America will be is a bunch of out of work AMERICANS!! Everyone seems to think their job is safe, not true.My job might or might not be safe, but if I lose my job you might lose yours even if it is this site as I would no longer be part of it and maybe many many more
Fleetwood to mexico Do not bet on that!During the Clinton years the Navy lost over 200 ships and the Army and Air Force had huge cut backs due to budget cuts .As an old vet I have seen it happen also my job is directly related to yours. God Bless and LEAVE NO ONE BEHIND
fleetwood pulling the pin its to bad fleetwood is doing that because you ,me and every other rv buyer will not see any cheaper priceses on the new rvs that come from mexico and god only knows fleetwood will not cut me any deal way up here in northern canada ps screw them i bought a keystone built in indiana and picked it up myself ps good luck keeping the rest of your jobs out of mexico !!!!!! frank
What attitude do you think I have? I was mearly agreeing with you! You have never met me and you know nothing about me so please don't say I have a certain attitude.
All dodge trucks, including the new 4500-5500s, are built in Mexico. If we had single-payer health insurance(read Government), we might still have those jobs here, and Fleetwood wouldn't be moving to Mexico. We are a nation of service jobs now, which is why middle class wage earners are working two, sometimes three jobs to keep their lifestyle. I buy American made as much as I can BUT IT'S GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND AMERICAN MADE.
Fleetwood to Mexico I am really embarrassed that the only one to seem to get what I was trying to say was a CANADAIN!! I want to thank Frank Yurich for his part in this very important matter I know parts on my F-350 Ford comes from everywhere but it is assembled in Louisville.Ky USA.We need to let corperate America that this movong to Mexico will not cut it. To MR Tow you are on the mony move and no benifits, low pay,ect put money in pocket as big bonus for cutting cost. Also no corporate taxes to help pay for American health plan.
I will NEVER step foot into another Fleetwood trailer my job is up in the air with a new plant that was built in Tijuana mexico.
This sucks a big one. And yo uare right, the end user will not see a reduction in cost, more likely and increase in cost. They will just pad their pockets more. And of course, its the lower cost units, the ones they sell the most of. As for the Dodge's, it must matter where you buy. I know my 06 2500 is MADE IN THE USA BABY!!
