Actually, I got a few surprises. First, I paid a whole 14 cents a gallon LESS than regular unleaded! $2.75 for diesel, $2.89 for reg gas. Then I noticed a big sticker on the front of the diesel fuel pump:

"Effective April 23, this station will be selling Low Sulpher Diesel Fuel (500-ppm) instead of Ultra Low Sulpher Diesel Fuel(15-ppm). Low Sulpher Diesel Fuel (500-ppm) is not intended for 2007 or newer diesel vehicles!"

Not that I'm complaining, but, are they "allowed" to do that? [IMG] I thought that ULSD was REQUIRED now by the EPA.

They just raised regular unleaded to $2.99 a gallon. Diesel is still $2.75. I can get used to this, though when I first bought my Cummins, I was paying nearly $.50 a gallon less than reg. gas.

Diesel is $2.99/gallon, and 87 octane is $3.25 The sucky part is that I have a toyota pickup that I usually daily drive, and filling it up is getting expensive :(

Last summer, when diesel hit $3.20 or so here, I could drop a $100.00 bill to fill my truck. Does a moped make a good tow rig?

Three words. Powerservice Diesel Additive. I've been using this stuff since before ULSD and I love it. A one gallon jug costs around $15.00 at Wal Mart and treats 300 gallons of fuel. The regular climate blend (grey jug) lubes the pump, reduces smoke emissions and I've gained and honest 2 mpg in fuel economy from the Cetane boost. The cold climate blend (white jug) does the same, plus keeps the fuel from gelling up.

My truck can be very picky on fuel brands as far as fuel mileage is concerned. Powerservice can turn the worst running fuels into something special. I recommend it to everybody I meet who has concerns about ULSD.
