Get the dually and buy a 40' lowboy g/n so you can haul low cars. Trust me that's the way to go. Then figure $1000 for straps and tarps and related stuff. At least $1500 down payment for insurance(tell them you're an LTL flatbed hauler NOT a hotshotter). At least $1000 for your apportion plates and CDL. You'll also need at least a month's worth of cash/credit to back you up on fuel, food and lodging. As I have found, getting into LTL hauling is expensive.
Thanks quackman. How are things in Austin? Wish I lived there. Are you buying another truck to haul with?
currently I'm in NEW MEXICO visiting my parents. actually I'm thinkin of goin back to school for a degree in airframe and powerplant technology. My house is actually located in the town of Lago Vista,TX, NW of Austin. If the school doesn't pan out I'll probably splurge for a smaller hotshot rig then go back on roadwaytogo
I bet you've eaten at Carlos N Charlies. Did you ever meet Jack Carmody? I know his brother Chris too. I would advise you to go back to school. College degrees are still capable of making you a millionaire.
ehh... A&P... i despise working on aircraft... lol i could test out on my Airframes portion, and study for a week or two for powerplants do test out of it as well... i HATE those things... lol it is fun, but can get old fast... i want to go back to driving... waytogo
