Should we split out the forums by engine specific models? Like Dodge 12v and 24v 1,2,3 gen, GM 6.2,6.5 Dmax, Ford 7.3, 6.0 etc. you get the idea. What do you all think?
Will your forum software allow you to do this as sub-forums one level below the current forum headings? In other words, click the (for example) Dodge Diesel forum and the next screen brings up the menu choices for the 1st gen 12V, 2nd gen 12V, 2nd gen 24V, 3rd gen HPCR, etc. If you try to do it all on the main forum menu, it might get awfully busy. No, or at least not right now. There just isn't the traffic IMHO. Plus, the 12v and 24v trucks in the 2nd gen flavor share so many things in common that it doesn't make sence to do it yet. If you must, I'd split the 2nd and 3rd gen trucks, otherwise leave it as is with us all posting in the same forum. There isn't any problems that I can see and there isn't enough traffic for a guy's thread to get buried too fast. I like it the way it is for the amount of traffic, but that is just me.waytogo
Leave a good thing alone. I feel like it is fine for now. Many of the questions that come up are really not brand specific.
I think that it is a great idea....but in do time. For the amount of traffic that we have I think that it should be left alone for now. The Dodge diesel forum is by far the busiest tech forum on here. However the GM diesel forum is only touched maybe once a week. I like the idea of sub forums like Rusty said.waytogo
I also don't think there is enough traffic yet to justify the extra forums. In fact, it's still not so fast that I can't use "New Posts" and I rarely even see the main forum index...
