I know this is a little crazy, since the temps here are pretty warm, but a previous thread got me looking for my block heater. I cant find that thing to save my life. I read the owners manual, and it said it would be by the pass. side headlight. no luck there either!! so does anyone know where it might be, or is it possible i just dont have one? It's a 2005 Dodge 2500

    thanks

look at your window sticker...it will say whether or not it came with one. You may not have one

As far as i know all cummin`s come with the block heater in place, but you may have to buy the cord, the heater is just by the oil filter, on the fire wall side,

I agree, all 3rd generation trucks with Cummins diesels do have the block heater. Not all of them had the cord, unless it was specified when ordered (a $10 option at that time) it won't have the cord. You should be able to get the cord from Cummins or Dodge. Rumor has it, the thing is between $20 and $50. Probably want to shop around to see who'll give the lowest price.

Check NAPA or a Freightliner Dealership.....

I've read on some other diesel truck sites that a cord can be ordered (and sometimes in stock) from your local NAPA dealer and / or Freightliner dealer, if you have either of those nearby.......and usually not much more than $12 to $15 bucks.

gsbrockman, if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for the srt-10 pillar, i have been trying to convince people that it will work in my truck, and not even the dealership parts dept thinks it will work. thanks again

I'm going off memory, but I believe around $44 bucks with my discount. The pillar should work on any 3rd GEN truck, and you can keep the grab handle, too. The DiPricol gauge was a drop-in also !
