guess it could be a tow rig for someone. anyone want parts? my $400 school district truck isnt to bad. 94 460 with 25k miles o nthe truck, plow, dump body, new tires, and a front 60. now how come i can never drive home anything i buy? maybe because if i bought anything that runs drives and stops i would think i paid to much. oh, what to do with this thing what do you guys think? part it, sell it whole locally, or ebay it, buyer beware?
$400 for a front D60 is a great deal as it is. You will have no problems selling the 460 either, or any of the drivetrain for that matter. The dumpbed outta bring a couple hundred bucks easy too. Nice find!
Well, I can answer why you can never drive them home, you keep buying Fords! LOL, just kidding. Nice score. But is that a D60 or one of those half-breed D50s? Looks like the dump has been hauling salt? Could be a nice handy truck if it's salvageable, otherwise, easy money parting it out (particularly if it is a HP D60).
its really rusty, and has no brakes(due to rust im shure it needs lines front to back, and wheel cylinders) the front fuel tank fell out(straps broke) while i was towing it home also...... and yes, its a d60 front, that i can convert to single rear wheel staus by using d50 wheel hubs. i know its agood deal for a d60 front, but i have gotten better. $100 ones are nice. i am the local guy in chciago to get 60 fronts from. have gotten cheap and resold atleast 1 and 1/2 dozen in the last 2-3 years
woho, the whole truck is gone!! surprizingly enough that even advertising it for sale with dark photos and the truck hooked up to a wrecker i nthe photos i used to advertize the truck a guy came out, looked at it, heard it run, and bought it! sold!
