Check this video out!! http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Comparos/articleId=115662 And please, no one crying the test was unfair because it was a fair test.
And the comparison of the same three trucks in Diesel Power magazine this month rated the GM third as they felt the Dodge and Ford handled loaded trailers slightly better than the GM. Also, they thought the GM had the NICEST interior of the bunch. My point is, these comparisons done by magazines and other big companies (what ever that clip was from) are basically worthless. Every group of testers come up with completely different opinions with identical trucks. The real test is for each and every person to drive all three brands and choose their own favorite truck and options.opcorn:
Now for debating that comparison simply for fun since I have nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon....rotfl I basically agree with that test, but it doesn't take a scientist to figure that out. The GM has the best transmission and currently the highest power output. Of course the LBZ would woop on the other two up the grades. Ford is always in the middle it seems, not the best engine, not the best trans, but not the worst, and an exterior/interior that is simply a matter of preferance. I'm not suprised the Dodge came in third, the Mega cab sucks as far as towing with 5th wheel limitions, and still not getting the 6spd Aisin auto in place of the 48RE.
I agree. I really didnt understand the test by Diesel Power mag though. They stated that the chevy killed the acceleration test loaded and unloaded, but was most effected by the trailor? What does that mean? And not trying to argue, but I dont remeber power mag rating the Chevy as 3rd.
Well, they didn't "rate" it third officially but said they found the Ford and Dodge to be less effected by the trailer.
yeah i can remember a year or two ago when all the tests were saying the dodge was the fastest (remember when 600lbft was a big deal)... it changes every year when one company turns up the screw a bit just to get a higher hp / torque figure then the other two... watch next year it will be ford w/ the highest power ratinig... but hey all the power wars work to our benefit because we get sweet trucks with tons of powerimp:
Well, due to the wonderful world of emissions:doah: , Ford still wont the highest power rating. They'll be at 350 hp and 650 tq. The 6.7 Cummins is only at 305 and 610 due to emissions. Im praying this wont be the end of the torque wars between the three!!!
Who cares, I never wanted the three to break 600ft lbs anyway. If you could order a stock 800ft lbs truck from the factory, where is the fun in that? How boring. It's more fun to Bomb.
I've heard that the 6.7 is severly detuned both for the sake of mileage and emmissions . I'm interseted in the new 6.7 if I buy a New truck or repower my current truck it WILL BE a Cummins for 2 reasons 1: I don't trust navistar engines I don't feel there as reliable as they should be 2: I don't like IFS so that rules out Chevy and Gmc So Dodge it is or my F-350 gets a Cummins Repower I feel that Cummins builds the most Reliable long lasting Diesel engines period
