ANybody towed with the integrated brake controller yet? I'm looking forward to trying it out, I hear that it applies ABS algorithms to the trailer, is that true?

From what I have heard, the ABS does work in conjunction with the TBC to bring the load to a stop as quickly as possible in a panic stop. I cannot wait to try it out in the 05 we ordered. I normally tow with a Prodigy and thought that was damn smooth braking, from what others have said, the intergrated TBC is 10x better than a Prodigy. Its about time one of the Big 3 did something like this.

Not sure if it applies ABS algorithms to the trailer but it works GREAT!

I wonder if the dealer can add that option after I really wish I had tow command I belive all it would be would add the brake, switchs and controlers and reflash the ecu?
Anyone ever done it or heard anything like it?

It can be added but it's not an easy job. A lot of stuff needs to be replaced, including the master cylinder. There are some guys that had it done on dieselstop, nad it was a hell of a lot more expensive than the $200 or whatever it cost to order it that way. If it were me, I'd just add a good aftermarket controller.

I didnt figure the master cylinder would have to be replaced but I did figure it would cost more than the factory cost.

They do change the master cylinder and reflash the ecu. My brother wanted it for his 2006 but ended up with a prodigy instead.

Last month i towed my brother's 38' fifth wheel (est. 12,500lbs) 2800 miles to Colorado and back. The towcommand controller was flawless and worked beautifully, I can't imagine a controller that works any better.waytogo

Tow Haul and Tow Command. I cant believe how great they work. The Prodigy on my 03 was good, but this TC will be hard to beat!

The way the system works as a whole is quite smooth and flawless making the perfect set up for a tow rig with an auto tranny mine still amazes me,not having tow command, when think about when I was hauling my 240 from Miss thru Bama when I saw a po po or heard my dector go off I just tapped the brakes and it slowed down without fuss or a mess.

I towed from miami to nashville and loved every moment of it. Braking was great thru the mountains when I shot east to pigeon forge.
