    How do you know when your turbo is starting to go out?

    I have a 04 3500 CTD 6 speed manual 41k on motor and transmission with a stock turbo that is making a real weird rattling noise when you accelerated past third gear and a whole whole whole lot of black smoke. please help. thanks in advance. just changed oil yesterday to rOTElla I had some sort of castroil for diesel i thought that was the problem.

    Pull the intake tube off and look at the impeller and the housing. Does it look like they have made contact? Are the blades bent? Can you move the impeller around?

    Just went out with the camcorder and made a video while driving the truck and trying to put it together now so you guys can hear what I am talking about.

    I made a video it really sucks you can only hear the noise in spots and I was the one filming and driving so it's best just to listen to the video instead of looking at it.lol.willyswanter what were you referring to when you asked if I did what you said. thanks for the help in advance guys.How do I post the video on this site?

    I had already done that and that isn't the case nothing is bent or touching anything.

    Then I'd suspect and injector. Take it to the dealer and have them do an injector kill test.
