i have been looking for somekind of shift kit for my 4l80. so i tryed a b&m shift+ unit #70320 . this thing was super easy to install and is vary easy to use. i got my unit at local speed shop for 43 bucks.

road test found better shift firmness on #1 then when i switched over to #2 there was a big improvment. now this is not a full shift kit. this unit just firms up the shifts .

i got this unit for dd use on #1 and when pulling trailer i flip to #2 position.

hope this helps others as it is nice to know somthing actualy works. waytogo

Cool, thanks. I've been thinking about a shift kit for the 4l80 I'm swapping into my motor home. This should do the trick on the #2 setting.

Just got one today for Christmas...Install took about 15min total. I mounted the switch to the underside of the steering column. I could instantly tell a difference when on #1 but couldnt tell too much of a difference between #1 and #2...maybe I need to drive it more.

Conclusion: Great improvement over stock and well worth the $40 waytogo

#2 is a bit more than #1 and it is good for trailering more than daily driving. i leave mine in #1 for that. and flip to #2 with trailer on. waytogo

After driving it for the last couple of days I can now feel the difference between #1 and #2. Just like you I am leaving it on #1 for DD and #2 for towing

Where did you mount the switch??

i have found i just leave it in 2 and run it. i like the shifts better every day in 2 . heck the velcrow stuff went bad quick. so i jip tied it under the dash and forgot about it.

Thought I would bring this back up and ask you guys some questions about it.

How do you like the shift kit now that it's been in a while?

How many miles did you have on your tranny's when you installed them?

Have you had any problems with the shift kit or your tranny since you installed it?

    Thanks,
    Rick

sorry had been a bit since i signed in to here.

i had about 100k miles on truck when installed. to this day have left it on stg 2 and never looked back . i love the improvement in shifting and would never second guess this kit over droping the pan and valve body for all the extra work involved.

i realy just set it on 2 and worked so good when the cheep dubble face tape wore off and it floped around i just zip tyed it under the dash and forgot about it.
