reset it more often... if you drive w/ no load and are getting, say, 18 mpg... and then you put a trailer behind it and tow 200 miles, then the average is going to be WAY off... for example, i took a road trip 400 miles, no load, and got 19 mpg... all highway... then the next day, i hauled cars, about 15k lbs, well i didn't reset the mpg calculator and it said i was getting 15 mpg... i know that i only get 9.5 mpg towing, but it was simply an average of the mileage at 19, and the mileage at 9.5... hope this isn't too confusing... point is, mine is very accurate, just varies when you change driving styles...

I've tried that, everytime I fill up I reset, when I tow it's for 1200 miles or so and it still is way off, I know I can't get 14mpg towing 14000# in the mountains thanks for the reply:confused:

I believe there is a flash (reprogram of the OH comp.) for this. Check with your dealer. I lost access to TSB's for a little while so I can't verify this, but I remember reading one on this issue.

Don't trust it for accuracy - especially if you have any mods. Mine (on my '01) shows I am getting 24mpg...........um, not quite. rotfl

If you are using it to calculate mpg, you have to hand calc.
