Before I lay down my hard earned $, I would like to know what people are running for exhaust brakes, why they chose that model, how well it works, its longevity and reliability and finally its ease of installation.

My pop has a Jacobs. It was there when he bought the truck. It's ok, but is slow to engage and disengage.

BD makes a good brake and so does pac, from what I have heard. Even the Banks brake isn't bad.

I have a D'Celerator from US Gear on my '93, after three years it has worked flawless. I got the electrically operated unit. This will be the unit I install on our '06....

I have had great luck with the BD brakes. Pac has good brakes too. The Jacobs is good on the 24v trucks, but on the CR trucks they are JUNK. The Banks brake will retard well, but the damn computer they use will tick off the pope. Terrible. I had one and had to hard wire it to a switch to get it to work the way I wanted it to.
