I just went to the store and my truck just died out of nowhere:confused: It will start fine, idle for about 20 seconds and die with no warning. Could this be an injector pump? or a lift pump?

Any help will be great. Thanx

Well, I have 0 fuel pressure because the lift pump is toast:mad:!! And what sux is that the dealer doesnt make 1 anymore. You can get a performance pump that puts out 20psi for about $1200 which is what I did, Or you can get their conversion kit which means just to replace the stock pump that only puts out 5psi for $600, you have to drop the tank or lift the bed to put the new pump into the fuel tank, run new lines all the way to the block which sux IMO.

Thanx for the reply!! But I gotter figured out.

Glad you got it fixed. Just for your info, NAPA sells an electric pump suitable for diesel fuel that can be mounted on the frame under the drivers door, using a small marine type Racor fuel filter between it and tank for less than 250 bucks. The Racor is a little expensive as well.

My freind has that set up on his and its 1 year old with no problems so far.

What year truck is this? Regardless, you went the right route as the FASS system supposedly rocks.

Keebler, let me know if I can be of assistance.

Chaddy, I hate to add salt to the wound but you got hosed with kerosene and lit on fire. $1200. Man, I'm sorry. You got took for about twice what you should have.

    Check it out.

Hey Dieselnut just wondering what you would do first as far as add ons ( not too much on bombing). I've got an '03 diesel w/6-speed 3.73s and stright pipe.My last one went almost 500k without a hitch. Also ran amsoil front to rear but sometimes forgot about it.Thanks.
