So earlier, I was just wondering and I ended up on a website, that is also a forum, TitanTalk.com a forum for Nissan Titan guys and they were talking about how Nissan is trying to come up with a more heavy duty Nissan Titan. They were talking about how they were going to put a Diesel Engine in it. Their probable options were Cummins and International. Do you think the rumors are true?

I would only see cummins in anything other than dodge if dodge used mercedes motors instead then cummins would have a motor and no truck. But like in the artical in DP last month, IF a Japneese auto maker wanted to make a break into the heavy duty pickup market what motor would they use.............. CAT! From what I have read Cat has a motor and a trans built for the 1ton truck market. If this is true and you wanted to break into the American truck market what would you use?

Thats true, CAT would be a good option for them. Ofcourse that is just what i read. Do u think they would use the CAT in a 1 Ton Foriegn vehicle? I am honestly an American Car buyer, atleast for trucks. I do like the Nissan Titan, but i think they would make changes to the body to make it a diesel. It just doesnt seem big enough.

If/when Toyota brings a 1-ton diesel over here, they would use their own heavy duty motors, (out of the Hino's) no questions asked. Nissan, i can't really see them using Cat either, i think they would either build their own with the diesel experience they already have, or partner up with Isuzu, now that GM bought up all of DMAX Ltd from them.
