I see that a few of you guys have the Valley tri ball set up. Just wondering, how long is that set up? I Have a Buyers Tri balll hitch i picked up at Northeren Tools. From where it comes out of the reciver to where the balls actually are is 14in. This puts too much leaverage on the reciver. Just wondering what every one else uses. Anyone have that Aluminum Rapid Hitch? I have just been using two seperate recivers but Id like to be able to adjust the hight on some of occasions.

We have a rapid hitch. It doesn't get used too much since we've taken the one trailer that didn't have an adjustable tongue and welded one on it, so that we can use the same ball mount for every trailer we have. They are all 2 5/16, so we use a 4in drop alumastinger. http://www.ultrahitch.com/perfect_drop_bar.html. The one we have is a 12000lb rating with 2000lb tongue weight. Not the sissy one they have on that website.

We do use the rapid hitch sometimes, but only for the small utility trailer which we don't use much at all. And then we only use it because it's a 2in ball.

I just mesured mine and the length is 12 inchs I'm very glad I did get the tri ball for when you have to borrow a trailer you never know what size ball you might need.

I run a rapid hitch and I love it. It doesnt stick out too far and it is rated at 10,000lbs trailer weight and 1500lbs tongue weight.

I have seen them on trucks and know that they dont stick out its just the whole Aulm. VS Steel thing. Hard to believe that it can hold up to the 1500 toung and 10000 trailer ratings. Think that I will have to go that route. Thanks for the feed back.

Those aluminum ones are stout. They are solid machined billet. 2x2" at the receiver and 2x1" at the ball. Nice units actually.

I honeslty dont think mine sticks out that long due to the reciver being hung under the bed.

I just keep a variety of hitches in my tool box. Makes it easier for me. I keep to spare balls in the box and just change them out according to the size I need.

Ive got al the recivers with 2 5/16, 2, and a pintel. Its not just the sizes im concerend with its more the highth. These dang 4X4 rams are so tall sometimes it hard to hook up to certin trailers some of the campers i have had to prop up and put a block under the jack so I could get them higher to hook up.

That's why I haven't lifted my truck. I think I am going to level it though.

Those of you with the rapid hitches, do you have the standard ball or the greaseless ball? I have been looking at the greaseless balls and I don't know how long they will last under regular use.

I have the B&W adjustable hitch. It does a great job with 10 in drop.

The best hitch I have used and now put on all of my trucks is the B&W Tri-ball 8" drop hitch. Each pin is tested to 10k# and it has held up under pulling a 38k# gooseneck on my tail.
