check your trans cooler to see if it works right. It may just be dirty

Is your torque converter locking correctly?

If you do any kind of towing at all, buy the absolute BIGGEST trans cooler you can. The 4R100 isnt a bad trans, but the factory coolers are adequate at best, horrible at worst. Id look for a unit with an auxiliary fan on it, it will make a world of difference. The biggest unit out there, with a fan on it should run about $220. Well worth the money if you ask me.

went up snowmobiling today towing at 50 plus mph trans didn't get hotter than150 but that probably not good considering it was only 30 degrees outside at best Thanks for all your help I think I will install the biggest trans cooler I can find but I afraid of interfering with my intercooler.

shouldnt be a issue beacuse you can remote mount a tranny cooler to where you need it think about the factory its under the radiator to me it sounds like the cooler is rather dirty.
