Best starting point for a FAST diesel truck?

    You still can't make up the difference no matter what you do to a standard truck, an auto stays spooled with full power until you pass the traps and because of that it will always beat a standard truck.

    I would get a manual in my personal truck for reliabilitys sake but Im not going for 11sec 1/4miles. if ya want to play ya have to pay and a built auto costs some $$$$

    Thats it right there. Gotta pay to play. BD is the one building the Short Shifter for the 5 and 6 speed trucks.

    As for the difference in shifting, also is the launch. I can launch all day long at 20 psi but in a stick you'll be lucky to see 4 or 5 psi unless you get super good at 3 pedaling it. That brings up teh next weak link. Boosted launches are terrible on a clutch.

    If you want it fast you need an Auto. I personally would not go less than the stage IV Suncoast kit on teh Allison or the full race Suncoast Dodge trans. If you want to do it do it right the first time.
