I have an '06 Ram 3500, 6-speed. I had problems, twice, with the check engine light coming on. Both times due to temperature sensor rationality.

First time, reflashed with TSB 18-005-06.

Second time, reflashed with TSB 18-003-06.

After the second reflash, my low/midrange torque went bye bye. I have to run the RPM up higher to get "acceptable" acceleration unloaded and loaded now. Not cool.

Can I get the troublesome 2nd reflash removed? It is the most recent flash the truck has had.

I didn't pay $36k for a new Ram so that I could have a new truck with marginally more power than the '91 Ford it replaced... This truck used to SCREAM before it was flashed the 2nd time.

I recall that TSB 18-003-06 was for long crank time. I never had that problem, so don't know why they flashed my truck with that program. The truck now stalls when cold if I start rollling in 2nd gear without giving it pedal. Stalled in the middle of an intersection one morning. That was fun.

Thank you for any help. Need to get my power back.

Sounds like something isn't right to me. I'd tell the dealer the same thing you just wrote in your post and see what they say. Maybe someone made a mistake doing the reflash?

Worst case scenerio, a Smarty would reprogram your ECM and give you tons more power.

Thank you. I took the truck in for an oil change last week, dealer said their diesel mech wasn't in that day.

So I'll be taking it back for this problem, and will fill them in on the details. I figured the performance decrease is due to the fringe benefit this TSB also provides: increased fuel economy.

My husband's did the exact same thing. Had the same reflash and same consequences, dealer told him Too Bad! Did it help your fuel mileage? Cuz it didn't help his

I'm not buying that this is something I have to live with. The dealer can put a new PCM in my truck for all I care; or Dodge can release a program that fixes the temperature sensor problem without screwing up the stock torque/power curves. I bought the truck for trailer pulling, not fuel economy. Dodge needs to honor my expenditure here...
