i have a 2000 ford f-350 powerstroke diesel i have a 4 inch exhaust, 100 hp chip and a K&N cold air kit, when i get up to around 25 pounds of boost it sounds like the air filter is chirping like the truck is starving 4 air, my filter is brand new and is clean, any suggestions. thanks lance
Sounds like compressor surge to me. You need to think about either a ported exhaust housing or a wicked wheel. The housing would be the better choice of the 2. Also, and intercooler upgrade may help make the most of the boost being produced.
I was told by local shop that the chirping is result of chiping early strokers.Mine does the same thing anoying isn't it.
I talked to the local diesel shop, he said it is called a power surge, the turbo is no big enough to use all the air that is pulls in, the only way to sold this is to buy a bigger turbo, $3,000 i'll be saving for a while
$3K for what???????? thats almost a twin turbo kit price....... for a bigger single should be WAY less than that. I can get a B1 from Peirs diesel for around $1900 canadian.
3K for an aurora ball bearing high compression turbo, what do u think i should buy and could u get me some prices
