I am looking at the trailer below. It has an 18ft deck and 2 ft dovetail. Two 7k axles, brake etc. Looking to tow my off road rig (84 chevy CUCV) Truck is on 37s and about 19 feet long (bumper to Bumper). is this trailer going to be too short to tow it saftey with straps and everything? Thanks alot
How much does the rig weigh? It's pretty easy math. The trailer has twin 3,500lbs axles, Weigh the trail truck add that to the weight of the trailer minus 10% and that gives your answer. If the total weight minus 10% is over 7K then you likely shouldn't, under 7K and you are good to go.
The trailer has twin 7,000 lb axles making it a 14k trailer. Rig ways 6k. I was just worried about length and with, Im pretty sure the weight rating is a little overkill, but I like overkill when it comes to haulin.
Yea, i think the trailer is an inch wider than the truck, so we'll see. I was going deck over but the truck will sit too damn high on it.
i have a very simular bumper pull, mine has only 18' of deck and it was fine for my 85 chevy wheeling rig i have since gone to a wider rig, so i cut the fenders off and i am going to build drive over fenders this spring
you also need to consider the gvwr of your truck. a gooseneck trailer distrubutes 15 - 30% of the combined trailer and load into the back of your truck. If you load your trailer wrong you could over load your truck, especially if its onlt a 1/2 ton SRW. If you get caught by DOT the fines are huge. mine was $1850
I ended up going with a 22 foot gooseneck with drive over fenders. Truck is an 06 SRW 2500HD Dmax so that ainta problem
rock on. when do we get to see pictures? i need to sell my 32 footer and buy a 50 foot deck over and a 25 foot low boy... lol what brand did you end up getting as well? any special options? Grant
